The sacrament
of penance is the way in which the Church celebrates the
unconditional love and forgiveness of God.
The sacrament
of penance can be celebrated in one of three forms:
- The first
form, which is most common. It involves individual celebration
with the priest, confession and absolution
- The second
form, where the community gathers to celebrate, but confesses
and is absolved individually
- The third
form, where the community gathers and is absolved collectively.
This form is only intended for use in particular circumstances.
In addition,
the forgiveness of God, and our desire to restore the broken
relationship between oursevles, our God and others can be
celebrated in the non-sacramental form of a penitential
service.
Individual reconciliation
(first form) is celebrated every Saturday, 9:30 - 10:00
a.m. Alternatively, if you urgently need to celebrate the
sacrament at other times, you can contact
the parish office.
A communal celebration
of reconciliation is celebrated twice a year, shortly before
Easter and Christmas.
