When Jesus
turned and saw them following, he said to them, What are
you looking for? They said to him, Rabbi (which
translated means Teacher), where are you staying?
He said to them, Come and see.'
John 1:38-39
Our Lady of Mount
Carmel Parish is a community united by its faith in God. Often
people move into our community or hear about it elsewhere, and
decide that they want to part of our family.
Sometimes
people have an experience of our community, or just a sense
that something or someone is calling them to take a new
direction in their lives. People wonder whether this is
God working within their life and whether they want to become
a part of our community and the wider Catholic Church.
The Rite
of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) is the process
by which adults are initiated into the Catholic Church.
This is a gradual process that takes place with the support
of the parish community.
It is a personal
journey. If you choose to prepare for initiation into the
Church, then the process can be shaped to reflect your own
needs and experiences.
Yet you are not alone in this journey. |

Our parish has an RCIA team which is committed to supporting
you along the path to life in our Church and this parish community.
Regular gatherings allow you to pray and reflect on God's
Word and on the place God may have in your own life. People
will listen to your stories and thoughts and share with you
their own experiences.
