OUR LADY OF MOUNT CARMEL CHURCH (ORIGINALLY ST. COLUMBA'S CHURCH), CIRCA 1959
The second church of St. Columba's Wentworthville, was solemnly blessed and opened by His Eminence Norman Thomas Cardinal Gilroy on 6 March 1955. It remains the present church of Our Lady of Mount Carmel, renamed after the arrival of the Carmelites in 1956. The house to the left of the church served at the time as the presbytery before the Carmelite Priory was built in 1961.
